Prevention Educator

The Survivor Resource Center is seeking a dedicated and supportive individual to provide community-based violence prevention education to youth and adults, in schools and community organization settings.

Requirements

  • Qualified candidates will have an associate's degree, a bachelor’s degree (preferred), or relevant experience will be considered if absent degree, and experience with public speaking.

  • This position is based in Danville, Illinois and will provide programs to Vermilion, Edgar, and Clark Counties. Travel to presentation locations is required.

  • On-call rotation required, occasional evenings and weekends required.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation as travel is required

Job Duties

  • Competently provide presentations on areas of violence prevention. (Examples-anti-bullying, bystander intervention, healthy relationships, social-emotional learning, body safety, and more.)

  • Develop appropriate and current curriculums for presentations.

  • Participate in awareness/outreach fairs.

  • Provide professional trainings.

  • Work with the Vermilion County Violence Prevention Task Force on current goals.

  • Assist in planning, organizing and participating in Agency Events.
